This class runs for four weeks, every Tuesday from 7:30-9pm EST beginning April 6th. At this time, this class is only open to people in female bodies.

Have you heard of burlesque? This fun, saucy art form blends theatrics and striptease to create one of a kind entertainment. For this class, you don't need sparkling gowns or tiaras and heels - you just need your wonderful body and a desire to learn some foxy new moves!

Blending burlesque movement with self-inquiry and reflective exercises, Burlesque Emergence is a class designed to bring you into your heart and body with peace, joy, and celebration.

In every class we will:

• learn different elements of classic burlesque movement, including glove peel, boa play and stripping out of your robe!

• explore opportunities for a deeper, inner journey of self-love, compassion, and forgiveness.

• learn about burlesque history

• dance!

You are invited to wear comfortable clothes that you love moving around in and also have a notebook and pen handy. You will receive a materials list upon registration.

Please note that every participant is expected to remain clothed the entire time. No nudity is allowed.

Our bodies are rich repositories of history, life, possibility and beauty. Given the societal programming and beliefs about the worth and value of the body, so many of us have been forced to accept false stories and fake truths about who we are as a result of what our bodies are. As a result, we may hold a lot of history and thoughts within us that can in turn hold us back from achieving the highest expression of our good in our lives. This workshop, working from the premise that all thought is creative, will provide an opportunity to delve into and experientially examine the roots of our relationships with our bodies and work on releasing our blocks to joy, abundance and all life. Topics covered will include right action, dialoguing with the Self, partner processes, forgiveness exercises and working with affirmations to counteract negative emotional beliefs and personal lies. There will also be a movement portion of the workshop.

Please bring a notebook, pen, a willingness to be honest and loving with yourself and wear comfortable clothes.

Burlesque sensation Perle Noire was born to perform. In 2008, she burst onto the burlesque scene winning the Best Debut category during the annual Burlesque Hall of Fame weekend in Las Vegas. Perle has been named one of the world’s top five burlesque performers by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine three years in a row. After spending several years as a cast member in Dita Von Teese’s popular “Strip, Strip Hooray,” Perle went on to complete a stint in Velvet – a musical starring Australian disco diva and superstar Marcia Hines. Drawing inspiration from the great Josephine Baker, Perle is also a multi-talented business woman who constantly challenges herself with new ventures including an upcoming line of cosmetics and a series of performance/dance classes known as Perlesque.

Rev. Legs Malone got her start with burlesque through London's Whoopee Club in 2006 and has been a popular star on national and International stages. Highlights of her performance career include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, Hoochy Koochy in Stockholm, Sweden, Lucha Va Voom in Los Angeles, CA and the countless nights spent dancing and entertaining on stages all over her hometown of NYC. Offstage, Rev. Legs is a healing arts practitioner (you may know her by her muggle name Anna Brooke) and wedding officiant. Legs also teaches self-transformation classes tailored for both burlesque dancers and non-dancers alike. It is her goal to help women, men and gender-fluid people alike to realize how unique, special and beautiful they are.
